The Pittsburgh Steelers have released three-time All-Pro offensive lineman David DeCastro. Their starting right guard since 2012, missed three games due to injury last season, and did not participate in the mandatory three-day minicamp last week because of an injury. The 24th overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft made 124 starts for the Black and Gold. The Steelers have brought in five-time Pro Bowl right guard Trai Turner to replace DeCastro.
The Steelers also announced Thursday that they will not be using St. Vincent College in Latrobe again this year. Their pre-season will be a mix of practices between the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side of Pittsburgh and Heinz Field. NFL COVID-19 protocols are the key reason the Steelers will not be returning to Latrobe in July.
