The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted three more former college players in the final day of the 2018 NFL Draft on Sunday.
In the fifth round, the Steelers selected Penn State Safety Marcus Allen and North Carolina State Running back Jaylen Samuels. In the seventh round, the Black and Gold selected Alabama Defensive tackle Joshua Frazier. Former Pitt wide receiver and returner Quadree Henderson also signed a free agent deal with the Steelers.
Two local players signed free agent contracts shortly after the draft’s conclusion on Saturday. From Slippery Rock, Defensive end Marcus Martin signed a free agent deal with the Seattle Seahawks. Martin, the NCAA’s all time sacks leader, will most likely play fullback for Seattle. He also held several other offers to play to play on either side of the ball. Also from the Rock, Offensive lineman Ian Park, a former starter at Northwestern and Upper St. Clair, signed a free agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
