The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-26 Sunday at Heinz Field. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left the game with a right elbow injury. He will have an MRI today to determine the severity.
Second-year quarterback Mason Rudolph went 12-of-19 for 112 yards and two touchdowns in relief. His first pass was tipped by receiver Donte Moncrief and resulted in an interception. Moncrief did not play after that. Tight end Vance McDonald caught two touchdown passes from Rudolph. Kicker Chris Boswell had two field goals.
Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson had 300 yards passing and three touchdowns. The Steelers defense sacked Wilson four times.
The Steelers have begun a season 0-2 just one time before under head coach Mike Tomlin. In 2013, they began the year 0-4, and went on to an 8-8 overall record.
They travel to San Francisco this week for a Sunday afternoon game. Kick-off is 4:25pm.
The Steelers also lost running back James Conner to a knee injury. Safety Sean Davis left the game with a shoulder injury, and Vince Williams suffered a hamstring injury.
A number of top players went down to injury in the NFL Sunday, including New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees, who suffered a hand injury in the first quarter of their game with the Los Angeles Rams.
Antonio Brown made his debut with New England. He had four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Baltimore is the only team to have won a game in the AFC North. The Ravens defeated Arizona 23-17 Sunday, and are 2-0. Cincinnati lost to San Francisco 41-17, and join the Steelers at 0-2.
Cleveland will visit the New York Jets tonight in Monday Night Football at 8:15pm.
