With Landry Jones at quarterback and a number of backups at other positions, the Pittsburgh Steelers held off the Cleveland Browns 28-24 Sunday at Heinz Field. Meanwhile, the Browns joined the 2008 Detroit Lions as the only other 0-16 team in NFL history. Jones was an efficient 23-27 for 239 yards with one touchdown and one interception. It was a big day for rookie wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster who caught nine passes for 143 yards and a score. He also returned a 96 yard kickoff.
The Steelers also found their way into the backfield six times to sack Browns QB Deshone Kizer—which set a new Steelers single season record. Kizer did throw for 314 yards and two touchdowns; he also had one interception.
The Steelers will rest this upcoming week and move onto the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. Although the opponent is unknown, the Steelers will play Sunday, January 14 at 1 p.m.
