The New England Patriots defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-18 last night in Thursday Night Football. It was the second straight week the Steelers lost to a team that entered a game with just two victories. It is the first time in NFL history that a team lost back-to-back games to teams that entered a game at least eight games under .500. The loss dropped the Steelers to 7-6 this season and out of an AFC playoff spot.
Quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw for 190 yards. He threw for one score and rushed for another. The Patriots held the Steelers to just 82 yards on the ground. Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half of the game.
The Patriots appeared to jump off-side on a Steelers fourth down play with just over five minutes to play, but the Steelers were penalized and forced to punt.
The Steelers travel to Indianapolis next Saturday afternoon. Kick-off has been set for 4:30pm.
