The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Jacksonville Jaquars 27-3 Sunday in Florida. With the win, the Steelers improved to 10-0 heading into their Thursday night game with Baltimore.
Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdowns as the Steelers offense put up 17 unanswered points in the second quarter, and another 10 unanswered in the fourth quarter. Diontae Johnson caught 12 passes for 111 yards and Chris Boswell kicked two field goals. Boz did miss a 42-yard attempt in the first quarter – his first miss in 25 attempts.
The Steelers defense had two sacks and the team now has a sack in 67 consecutive games. They are now two shy of the NFL record set by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1999 to 2003. The Steelers defensive backfield also picked off four passes. Two each by Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds.
The Steelers host Baltimore Thursday for an 8:25pm kick-off. The Ravens lost to Tennessee 30-24 in overtime yesterday, and have fallen to 6-4.
Cleveland took over sole possession of second place in the AFC North with a 22-17 win over Philadelphia. The Browns are now 7-3. They visit Jacksonville Sunday.
Despite the loss, the Eagles still lead the NFC East by a half game at 3-6-1. Dallas, Washington and the New York Giants are all 3-7.
Monday Night Football – Tampa Bay will host the Los Angeles Rams. Kick-off is 8:15pm.
Sunday Night Football – Kansas City defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 35-31 when Patrick Mahomes hit Travis Kelce with a 22-yard touchdown pass with 28 seconds remaining. The Chiefs improved to 9-1. The Raiders fell to 6-4.
