The Pittsburgh Steelers will be making final cuts today to prepare their 53-man roster for the beginning of the 2022 regular season. Two defensive backs that the team signed as free agents in the offseason have both been lost during the preseason. Safety Karl Joseph is out for the season and already on injured reserve, and safety Damonte Kazee is expected to be placed on injured reserve after injuring his left arm in the Steelers win over Detroit Sunday. 27 players will be cut by the league-mandated limit by 4pm today. Some of the players cut will be re-signed to the 16-man practice squad. The Steelers open their season in Cincinnati a week from this Sunday.
