The Pittsburgh Steelers completed a 3-0 preseason with a 19-9 victory over the Detroit Lions Sunday at Acrisure Stadium. Starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 15 of 19 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. He led the Steelers on a six-play 92-yard drive to close the first half with a touchdown after the Steelers had kicked three field goals to begin the game. They led at halftime 16-0. Rookie Kenny Pickett played three series in the second half, completing 10 of 14 passes for 90 yards. He led the Steelers to a second half field goal.
The Steelers open their regular season Sunday, September 11th in Cincinnati.
Linebacker T.J. Watt and receiver Diontae Johnson both left the game Sunday with injuries, both suffered in the opening half. Watt left with a knee injury and Johnson bruised a shoulder.
