Stephen Gary Hamilton, age 69, of Evans City, passed away Wednesday evening November 6,2024 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
Born October 26,1955 in Butler; he was the son of the late Samuel and Delores Greenwalt Hamilton, Sr.
In his early years, he was an owner operator Steel Hauler; then he worked as a tree trimmer in the logging industry; and last he was a welder.
He and his son were members of the Portersville Steam Show Association, where he enjoyed owning and restoring antique tractors.
Stephen’s other hobbies included being a Car and Motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed owning and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a mechanic by trade and enjoyed working on and hot rodding his 1976 Trans Am.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Wolthers Hamilton, who he married September 28, 1985; his children Amber (Harold, Jr.) Hart of Chestnut Ridge, PA, and Jeremy Hamiliton of Evans City; grandchildren Joshua (Katie) Hart and Harold III (Hannah) Hart; three great grandchildren Emma, Grace, and Crue; sister Linda Riemer of Freeport; mother in law Delores Wolthers of Portersville; brother in law Ray Wolthers of Portersville; sister in law Denise Jewell of Princeton; 3 nephews and 2 nieces; and his border collie Bear.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Sam Hamilton, Jr; and his father-in-law Harold Wolthers.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 3pm to 6pm at the Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 11am, in the funeral home, with Rev. Tom Metz, Zion Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.
