For the most part, western Pennsylvania was spared by severe weather on Wednesday, but the other half of the state wasn’t so lucky.
A storm ripped through a shopping plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County last night, sending cars through buildings and blowing out windows. The area was under a tornado warning at the time.
Six people reportedly suffered minor injuries. Many businesses were destroyed. The National Weather Service says it will be in Wilkes-Barre today investigating.
Closer to home, a Tornado Warning was in effect last evening for Armstrong, Clarion and Indiana counties. The warning expired around 8 p.m.
