An annual free event this weekend will give the community a chance to appreciate the talents of local students.
It’s the 16th year for the FAB- or Fine Arts and Beyond- Showcase held at the Butler Intermediate High School.
The event runs from 4:30 p.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 and includes a 50-50, gift basket raffle, silent auction and musical performances. Some student art can be bid on and purchased, including drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, photography and pottery.
Butler Area School District art teacher Eric Campbell says all money raised at the FAB Showcase benefits local students through the non-profit Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation for scholarships, creative teacher grants, the Kids’ Weekend Backpack Program, technology and the educational needs of the Butler Area School District students.
Raffle and basket winners will be selected on Saturday night. Last year’s 50-50 raffle ticket winner received over $6,000.
