Students in the Mars Area School District will be going fishing later this week.
Students from the middle school will be releasing trout Monday at 4 p.m. at the Glade Run Lake in Valencia.
The students raised the trout from eggs to fingerlings in a classroom aquarium as part of cold water conservation education program—which teachers say incorporates ecology, environmental science, chemistry and math.
This program is made possible through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Council of Trout Unlimited and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
