More than 200 participants teamed up to raise thousands of dollars for research in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease over the weekend at Butler County Community College.
Over $33,000 was raised during Saturday’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s to support care for those dealing with the disease as well as fund ongoing research to find a cure.
The top fundraising team at this year’s walk was the Newhaven Court Forget Me Not’s who collected over $4,000.
Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death across the country and over 400,000 Pennsylvania residents are living with the disease assisted by nearly 700,000 caregivers.
