Suellen Marie McCollim, 81, of Slippery Rock passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. She was born in New Kensington, PA on October 5, 1942 to the late James and Helen (Reimer) McCollim. Suellen graduated from Washington Township High School with numerous academic awards, then continuing her education, she graduated, Summa Cum Laude, in 1992 with her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Slippery Rock University. Suellen was a former EMT and Firefighter. She worked for the American Heart Association and American Red Cross in Butler. She was an accomplished artist proficient and extraordinary in all mediums. She loved her family fiercely. Suellen loved live music and dancing and was also a published writer and poet. She had extensive experience running nonprofits and grant writing. Suellen was a member of the Associated Artists, both in Butler and Pittsburgh, as well as the Vandergrift Artist’s Guild. Mother of Jamie Durso, Todd Jones, Randi Sperling and Erin Jamison; sister of Michael McCollim and Brian McCollim; grandmother of AJ, Matt, Garret, Josh, TJ, Alix, Zack, Cain, Braiden, Maddox, Jace, Lyric, and Trinity; aunt of Lisa, Bill, Vicky, Wendy, Kelly and Jordan; great aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers William and Patrick McCollim and her nephew Michael. Services were made through the SPENCER D.
