A former elementary school in the Karns City School District could be demolished.
According to school district officials, the now vacant Sugarcreek Elementary School may be torn down in the next 12 months.
Officials say the cost of maintaining the school is high and no buyer has emerged for the building, so the next steps include changing zoning policy.
The school would become a training ground for emergency services before being completely torn down and the fields being turned into athletic fields.
No decision has been made final as the school district would still consider offers for the building.
No date has been set for one final walk through for the school but if the community showed interest in a date could possibly be set.
