Residents in the City of Butler will soon see crews preparing for work that will improve flooding conditions in the west end area.
According to Butler City Engineer Joe Gray, a pre-bid meeting was held last month for the Sullivan Run Channel Improvement Project.
The meeting took place at three sites along Sullivan Run in Butler and was attended by representatives of the PA Department of General Services and Department of Environmental Protection.
Anticipated work will include the removal of two culverts at the western end of Negley Avenue, the replacement of the bridge at West Brady Street, and the replacement of bridges at Miller Avenue and West Penn Street with one large culvert.
Bids for this project will be received by Wednesday (6/9) and survey crews are expected to begin on-site work soon after. Construction is likely to begin sometime in the late summer or early fall.
