A full summer of baseball is planned for Michelle Krill Field at Pullman Park in the city of Butler as a couple of new teams will call the facility home in 2019.
Two teams from the eight-team Tri-State Collegiate League- the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs and Core Athletics- will each play 16 games at the field in the months of June and July.
These teams will pay the City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds & Facilities Authority a special rate to rent the field, with the authority also collecting ticket fees, sponsorships and money for signage.
A 15-year-old wooden bat summer league also plans to play 30 games on weekdays in June and July. According to Director of Facility Operations Dean Selfridge, the total number of games hosted by the park will increase in 2019 over the number held in 2018.
This comes after the Butler BlueSox announced last year that they would not play baseball at the park for the first time in 10 years.
