COLLEGE FOOTBALL:
After their first loss of the season last week, the SRU football program delivered a 45-14 win over East Stroudsburg University yesterday in the first round of the Division II NCAA playoffs. The Rock will travel to No. 1 seed Tiffin next Saturday for the second round of the NCAA playoffs.
Grove City College earned their first-ever NCAA Division III playoff victory yesterday afternoon, pulling out a last-second 21-20 win over Susquehanna. Grove City will face New York team Cortland State next week in the second round of the NCAA playoff. The Wolverines remain undefeated so far this year.
Penn State was victorious in a home game over Rutgers 27-6 yesterday.
Pitt defeated Boston College 24-6 yesterday.
PITTSBURGH TEAMS:
The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 yesterday; they return home today to face the Vegas Golden Knights. Catch the game on WISR – pregame begins at 5:30 and faceoff is scheduled for 6:00.
The Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Cleveland Browns today. Kick-off is at 1pm. WISR will join the pre-game following the noon news.
