The U.S. Supreme Court is moving up a filing deadline in the latest developments surrounding Congressman Mike Kelly’s lawsuit.
Justice Samuel Alito had originally given the state’s election administrators until Wednesday to file their response to Kelly’s lawsuit. That has now been moved up to tomorrow at 9 a.m.
The original deadline would have been in the “safe harbor date” which is the federal cutoff date to resolve any issues surrounding a state’s election.
Now, the Supreme Court will have just hours to decide if there’s any merit to Kelly’s lawsuit that aims to throw out mail-in ballots because he believes they are unconstitutional.
