A U.S. Supreme Court ruling has voided a decision by a lower court regarding undated mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania.
A lower appeals court that said mail-in ballots must be counted if they have an unmarked date on the ballot, as long as they were in by the required time period.
Now, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that decision as moot, saying that’s already what the law called for.
The state is now reviewing the decision and will be offering their guidance to counties.
The number of undated ballots is very minimal across the Commonwealth and in Butler County. Election officials remind mail-in voters to follow all directions closely.
