Susan S. Herman, 99, of Butler, passed away, Friday, August 9, 2024, in the comfort of her home.
She was born October 22, 1924 in Butler, a daughter of the late John Sherba and Mary (Dunda) Sherba.
Susan graduated from Butler High School and was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild, had taught Religious Education and was on the repast committee, all at St. John’s. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Surviving are her children: Jeanne (James) Sheffer of Holley, NY; Frank Herman of Hamlin, NY; Gloria Hoffman of Butler and Joni (James) Horner of Butler.
8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Richard, Frank, Eric, Stephanie, Megan, Alyssa and Elizabeth.
19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Pickle” Herman, whom she married June 8, 1946, he passed away September 16, 2009; a daughter-in-law, Marie Herman; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon on Tuesday. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Radko Blichar, Pastor, will officiate. Interment to follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
