Police are looking for a driver who led officers on a chase early Friday morning and then, after crashing, got out of his vehicle and fled on foot.
The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. in the City of Butler.
State Police say an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of North Chestnut and West Brady streets but the driver did not stop.
A chase ensued on Chestnut Street, ending when the suspect crashed his vehicle into a fire hydrant.
The suspect got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The officer attempted to chase the suspect on foot but he got away.
State police say they are following up on several leads. The suspect was only described as a black male. Police have not released any information on the suspect’s vehicle.
