A teacher in the Seneca Valley School District is being recognized for her work in combatting hatred.
Ms. Michele Russo is an English teacher at the Seneca Valley Intermediate High School. She was recently honored with the Antisemitism Civic Courage Award by the Shine A Light organization.
Russo has traveled to Poland with Classrooms Without Borders to learn more about the Holocaust. She’s also worked to create stations titled “Stronger Than Hate” in the school’s library.
District officials applaud Russo for her work and say the award shows a dedication to Russo’s commitment to building a more inclusive, engage, and equitable school community.
