If you ever use the Tarentum Bridge to make your way to Westmoreland County, you’ll need to find another route for a couple of weeks.
That bridge is now closed in both directions. Work is being done on both the eastbound and westbound lanes, which will include steel and concrete repair.
The eastbound side is expected to reopen on June 13th. The westbound lanes will likely reopen on June 27th.
Typically, 30,000 vehicles use the bridge daily. That span directly connects New Kensington and Tarentum.
The closure is part of a $3.24 million dollar bridge rehabilitation project.
Detours are posted.
