An apparent drug deal gone wrong led to a stabbing in northern Butler County.
State police say they were called to an apartment on Grove City Road in Mercer Township on Thursday, Oct. 12 for a disturbance. When troopers got there, they discovered there had been an “altercation over a drug exchange,” according to court documents.
Police soon found the 19-year-old victim, from Grove City, who told police that 26-year-old Joshua Bennett, of Mercer Township, stabbed him in the buttocks. The victim was taken to Grove City Medical Center for treatment.
Bennett was arrested and booked into the Butler County Prison. Investigators suspect the weapon used was a kitchen knife.
