The Texas Rangers have reached the World Series for the first time since 2011 after defeating the defending world champion Houston Astros 11-4 in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series last night. Adolis Garcia homered twice in the game and drove in five runs. He broke the MLB record for runs batted in during a postseason series with 15.
The Rangers improved to 8-0 on the road in the playoffs, joining the 1996 Yankees as the only teams to win their first eight road games in one post-season. They will await the winner of the National League Championship Series and will have home-field advantage. The World Series begins Friday night in Arlington.
