Local kids will have a chance to get started on summer reading with an annual initiative from the Butler Area School District this week.
The BookStop will make its first runs through the community on Wednesday to allow kids to pick out a free, gently-used book.
There will also be a children’s book author doing a reading of their book at the library twice a month so be sure you bring your child if you want your child to be entertained for the morning.
A few of the authors will be reading books that haven’t been published yet in order to gain feedback from the parents so if you’re willing to help a local author, pop into the library too. A lot of work goes into these books, from developing educational characters to filling children’s book illustration jobs to make the book look nice, so the feedback will help the authors perfect the books even more.
Of course, there’s no obligation to come down to these book readings but they are a nice way to spend a morning. A lot of hard work that goes into the readings and the BookStop so be sure to support it, after all it is free!
