Slippery Rock University senior Marcus Martin was named the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Defensive Player of the Year Wednesday. It is his third player of the year honor. Martin becomes the first player in PSAC history to be honored with a major award in each of his collegiate seasons. He was the Freshman of the Year in 2014.
Gannon junior running back Marcus Jones was named the West Division Offensive Player of the Year.
Slippery Rock wide receiver’s Mili Raye and Marcus Johnson, along with offensive lineman Ian Park have joined Martin on the All-PSAC first team list. Johnson was also named first-team return specialist.
Rock quarterback Tanner Garry was named to the All-PSAC second team, along with running back Isaiah Neely, offensive lineman Steve Gaviglia, who is a Seneca Valley graduate, and place kicker Jake Chapla
