Thelma A. Hood (Mitts) Hassler, 81, of Butler, PA passed away on February 10, 2024 at Concordia Nursing Home, Cabot, PA.
Thelma was born in Meadville, PA to Marshall Hood and Margaret (Crabb) Hood.
Thelma attended Butler High School and graduated in 1960. She then attended BC3 and Duquesne University. Thelma was a Judicial Assistant to Attorney S. Michael Yeager for many years, Director of Pampered Chef, and a Mother Advisor for Butler Rainbow Girls. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served on several committees. In her later years, Thelma’s love and passion was quilting.
Thelma is survived by her three sons, Douglas A. Hassler, Steven B. (Tammy) Hassler, and David C. Hassler; and 6 grandchildren, Ben, Hunter, Jon, Heath, Hannah, and Hallee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Margaret Hood.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday March 14, 2024 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church, 200 East North Street, Butler, PA, 16001, with Pastor David Janz officiating.
A private burial will be held at North Side Cemetery.
