Thomas A. Koczynski, 81, of Butler, PA, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Louisville, KY, on June 11, 1943, to the late Thomas A. Koczynski, Sr., and Antennett E. (Wisenewski) Koczynski.
Thomas graduated Central Regional High School in 1962. He joined the Navy during high school, where he was an Aviation Machinist and served our country over 30 years. He loved all things NASA, space exploration documentaries, and keeping up with the military. Thomas enjoyed politics and could be found watching the news 24/7.
Surviving are two sons; Thomas A. (Gina) Koczynski III, of Bakersfield, CA and John R. (Karin) Koczynski of Sweden, two daughters; Melissa A. (Brian) McGinnis of Butler and Penny Joe Koczynski of Fresno, CA, 17 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, and two brothers; William J. Koczynski of NJ and Theodore A. Koczynski of New Zealand. Also surviving is his companion of twelve years, Sarah McGinnis.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Dianne R. (Francis) Koczynski whom he married April 20,1982 and passed away on September 15, 2012, and one daughter: Shari E. Roddy, and one sister: Patricia Ann.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 10:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Thompson- Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North Street, Butler, PA, 16001.
Immediately following the visitation at 12:00 P.M., Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Chicora and Brady’s Bend American Legion posts. A Blessing Service will immediately follow at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North Street, Butler, PA 16001 with Deacon Jim Shope, officiating.
A burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park & Mausoleum.
