Thomas C. Schneider, Jr., 82, of Chicora, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Butler Memorial Hospital ER.
He was born November 22, 1936 in Butler, PA to the late Thomas C. Schneider, Sr. and the late Josephine Whitten Schneider.
Thomas was a graduate of Butler High School. He went to receive his Bachelors in Anthropology at the University of Oklahoma, received his Masters in Modern European History at Duquesne University and a Masters of Anthropology from Penn Sate University. He taught World Cultures at California University and Anthropology Sociology at the University of Scranton. Thomas worked in the Office of Personal Management (OPM) in Investigations for 20 years at the Boyers Mines. He served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne Rangers from 1959-1964. Thomas enjoyed reading and living life to the fullest.
He is survived by three daughters, Betsy (Bob) Charney of Clarks Summit, PA, Nikki (Ron) Lowe of Tunkhannock, PA, and Jennifer Kearney of Clarks Summit, PA; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; beloved partner of 29 years, Anne Pistorius of Chicora.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas C. Schneider III,and sister, Mary Jo Fitler.
Friends will be received Friday, May 17, 2019, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.until time of Blessing Service at 7:0 p.m.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
