Thomas R. Heath, of Butler, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot.
Born October 23, 1936, he was the son of the late William M. Heath, Sr. and Irene Bashline Heath.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from Butler High School in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he worked in communications, which helped to prepare him for his future employments at North Pittsburgh Telephone Company and Miller Information System, working mostly at West Penn Hospital and, later, at St. Francis Hospital in Lawrenceville, installing and maintaining the telephones. He continued to work at St. Francis after his retirement until the hospital closed.
He was an avid sports fan, his greatest passion being college football, especially Penn State.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Fetzko Heath, whom he married August 4, 1962; his son Gregory Heath, of Butler; several in-laws, including his sister-in-law Betty Fetzko, who has been a great help to the family; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William M. Heath, Jr., Charles Heath, and Gerald Heath.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 2019, at 10 a.m. from St. Michael the Archangel R.C. Church, 432 Center Avenue, Butler.
Interment will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Michael the Archangel R.C. Church.
