According to the latest update from state health officials, there are now over 18,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania.
There were positive signs though—especially for Butler County. No new cases were reported, with the number of positive cases remaining at 113.
Meanwhile, as of 10 a.m. Thursday morning there were 15 patients being treated for COVID-19 symptoms at Butler Memorial Hospital—two of those patients are in ICU. This is an increase of four patients hospitalized compared to Wednesday.
Butler Health System also says they’ve performed over 1,700 tests at Butler Memorial Hospital. A total of 119 have come back positive so far with approximately 36 results still pending.
BHS is asking patients to avoid the emergency department if possible. Instead, many doctors have video or telehealth appointments available to treat patients while they remain at home. Contact the BHS Care Center for more information.
