Pennsylvania Republican Senator Pat Toomey is in his final days in Washington D.C.
On Thursday Toomey gave his farewell address.
“I say it all the time and it will always be true. Representing Pennsylvania in the United States Senate for the last 12 years has been the greatest honor of my professional life,” Toomey said. “I’ll always be enormously grateful to the people of this great state for entrusting me with this awesome responsibility.”
Toomey touched on his belief that economic freedom is a “fundamental aspect of personal freedom.”
He also urged the Senate to keep the filibuster in place, and said his party is bigger than just one man.
Toomey opted not to seek re-election in 2022. He will be replaced by Democrat John Fetterman.
