Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey believes there’s enough bipartisan support to pass new gun legislation.
Toomey spoke to reporters this week and said “it’s more likely than not” that the Senate agrees to the deal’s framework.
That includes an expanded review process for gun buyers under 21, flagging potential purchases with a history of domestic violence, more money for mental health and school security, along with other measures.
Toomey says most Democrats, including fellow Senator Bob Casey, approve the deal. He adds that at least 10 Republican senators are likely to vote in favor of the bill as well.
