The National Weather Service is confirming two tornadoes touch downed in Beaver County early Saturday morning.
Investigators checked the area after radar picked up tornado activity around 6 a.m. Saturday. They found that an EF0 tornado touched down in Shippingport just a couple of minutes after 6 a.m. Some trees were uprooted and roofs were damaged.
Just 10 minutes later, an EF1 with estimated speeds of 95 miles per hour hit the Monaca area of the county. Again, trees were uprooted and roofs were blown off their home.
Butler County received tornado warnings soon after and the National Weather Service said they would investigate the county on Sunday, however there has been no word on if a tornado indeed did touch down.
