Parts of Butler County were under a tornado warning last night and the National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado did touchdown in neighboring Mercer County.
The warning was issued just after 5:45 p.m. for areas like Chicora, Karns City, and Parker because a rotation was identified on the radar.
According to the NWS, the EF-1 tornado occurred near Sandy Lake with winds over 100 miles per hour.
The storms kept emergency crews busy Wednesday night, as they responded to more than 20 calls after 5 p.m.
