The launch of the Butler Transit Authority’s new mobile ticketing platform called RideBTA is going smoothly so far.
According to Authority Executive Director John Paul, technology is changing rapidly and the transition to a system in partnership with Modeshift is the best option to provide convenience to riders.
A recent test of the system went well before the launch earlier this week and now new and existing riders can purchase per-day or per-month passes online using smartphones at a reduced cost from the per-trip rate.
The new system also automatically allows the authority to count and track how riders of local and commuter service are using their passes.
