Despite the mask mandate being lifted earlier this week, local transit officials are reminding riders of The Bus that masks are still mandatory.
The Butler Transit Authority falls under the guidance of the Transportation Security Administration which is still requiring masks on public transit through early fall.
“Even though the governor has released a statement that masks are no longer required in Pennsylvania, unfortunately under federal law, masks are still mandated on federal transportation, on airports, and in other similar situations,” Authority Director John Paul said.
Paul says that the current mandate runs through the second week of September.
