President Joe Biden announced he was commuting the sentences of 37 federal death row prisoners, however there were a few notable exceptions.
Tree of Life Synagogue shooter Robert Bowers was left off the list, meaning he is still eligible for the death penalty.
The Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof were also not on the commutation list.
All 37 prisoners will spend life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Biden said in a statement that “we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level.”
