We’ve learned more about an accident that happened Tuesday evening that knocked power out for a number of Summit Township residents.
State police say the crash happened a little after 3:15 p.m. on Saxonburg Road when 72-year-old Diria Swager of Butler lost control of her car on the snowy road and hit a utility pole.
Police say the top of the pole fell on top of Swager’s car and a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Pamela Porter of Saxonburg. Parts of the pole also fell across the road.
Crews from West Penn Power remained on the scene for nearly seven hours to restore power to residents in the area.
No one was injured in the accident.
