Many local residents will receive a free Thanksgiving meal this weekend thanks to the generosity of Roman Catholic Parishes of Northeastern Butler County.
Mater Dolorosa, Saint Joseph, and Saint Wendelin are joining together to hold a Free Turkey Drop on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the parking lot of Mater Dolorosa Church on North Main Street in Chicora.
Those in need of a Thanksgiving dinner are encouraged to pull into the lot, pop their trunk, and a volunteer will load a free frozen turkey and sides directly into the trunk of the vehicle.
There are no qualifications that must be met in order to receive a free Thanksgiving meal through this event. CDC COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing will be in effect.
