Many hunters will take to the woods Saturday with the beginning of turkey season.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission says that everyone who purchased a hunting license receives one fall turkey tag. If you do harvest a turkey, the Game Commission says you must tag it immediately and then report it to the Game Commission within 10 days.
Last year, around 7,600 turkeys were taken statewide, which was about 12 percent more compared to 2021.
Tens of thousands are expected to participate in the turkey hunting season; last year over 70,000 hunters participated.
