Hunters are gearing up for the beginning of turkey season this weekend.
It officially begins Saturday morning and the Game Commission expects this to be a big year for hunters.
They say turkey reproduction was above average this summer, meaning there should be more roaming the wooded areas across the state.
The Game Commission also reminds hunters that only shotguns, archery tackles, or muzzleloader firearms are permitted for turkey season.
