Many hunters will take to the woods Saturday with the beginning of fall turkey season.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission says that everyone who purchased a hunting license receives one fall turkey tag. Those who do harvest a turkey must tag it immediately and then report it to the Game Commission within 10 days.
The summer turkey sighting survey revealed nearly double the number of sightings from last summer which indicates above average reproductive success and could result in a strong hunting season.
The season will continue until November 16th in the western part of Butler County while turkey hunters in other areas of the county will be able to continue until the 22nd as well as again the 27th through the 29th.
