The Pennsylvania Turnpike has purchased a piece of property in Cranberry Township that is a part of their project to expand a portion of the highway.
Turnpike Commissioners approved the just over $1.8 million sale of the 2.5 acres of property which is near a bridge that goes over Rochester Road.
A turnpike spokesperson says that the property will be needed for the reconstruction and widening of the Turnpike in that area.
He also said that “due to potential commercial development along Rochester Road, it was decided to acquire the property in advance.”
The property previously housed Sauers Trucking.
