Two Butler County women have been sentenced for their involvement in the death of a 4-year-old boy last year.
Mackenzie Peters, 22, was sentenced Thursday to three years of probation on two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children, according to WPXI-TV. Peters is the mother of 4-year-old Bentley Miller, who police say died after being abused by Peter’s then-boyfriend, Keith Jordan Lambing.
Kristen Herold, 44, the mother of Lambing, was also sentenced Thursday to 1.5 to 5 years in state prison. Prosecutors alleged Herold failed to get immediate help for the boy and then lied to investigators about where he had been staying.
Police allege Lambing sexually assaulted the boy at the Super 8 motel in Butler Township, leaving him with injuries that resulted in his death. Lambing is facing first-degree homicide and sexual assault charges.
