Two longtime local school administrators will be stepping down at the conclusion of the current school year.
McQuistion Elementary School Principal Linda Smith-Peifer and Northwest Elementary School Principal Elmer (Jack) Ratica will both retire effective June 30 this year.
Smith-Peifer has spent 38 years with the Butler Area School District, while Ratica will have completed 22 years of service.
Butler Area Superintendent Dr. Brian White says the district is exploring all options within and outside of the district, but it is very early in the process for finding replacements.
