Governor Tom Wolf is ordering all commonwealth flags to fly at half-staff in honor of the two State Police Troopers who were struck and killed by a vehicle near Philadelphia.
33-year-old Trooper Martin Mack and 29-year-old Trooper Branden Sisca were stuck on Interstate 95 early Monday morning while attempting to help a pedestrian who was also struck and killed.
The order pertains to all state facilities, public buildings, and grounds—but Wolf says all state residents are invited to participate.
“This is a very sad day for Pennsylvania. There are three families mourning the loss of loved ones. It’s a reminder of what the state troopers do for us each day. They lay lives on the line for all of us everyday,” Wolf said.
Flags will be flown at half-staff through sunset Friday as well as on the days of their funerals which have not yet been announced. An investigation into this incident is ongoing
