New information now shows that there were two tornadoes that touched down in the region on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh says the first hit the Tarentum area around 1:10 a.m. and reached an estimated peak wind gust of 100 miles per hour.
Less than 10 minutes later—another touched down around Lower Burrell. This one was less powerful—with wind gusts peaking around 75 miles per hour and traveling about a quarter mile.
